Katarína Hládeková − Key WordsRegional Art Gallery, Masarykova 723/14, LiberecOctober 12, 2017 - November 26, 2017
Intervention by a finalist of the 2016 Jindřich Chalupecký AwardLike the previous two exhibitions by finalists of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award, the Katarina Hládeková exhibition in the Regional Gallery in Liberec will follow up the finale project presented a year ago in the National Gallery in Prague. Naturally, Hládeková’s work has moved on since then, and so she will here introduce a part of the original installation called # ∞ ), deconstructed in terms of form and content, and complemented with a new context based on (among other things) the new book the artist is just now preparing for publishing. Katarína Hládeková (1984) is a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the Technical University in Košice (Rudolf Sikora’s Studio of Graphic and Experimental Arts) and the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Brno University of Technology (Petr Kvíčala's Studio of Painting III). She completed a study stay at Jan Matejko Akademy of Fine Arts in Krakow. She started her doctoral degree studies at the Department of the Electronic Image at the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, currently continuing at FaVU in Brno. She works mostly with the media of object art, installation and photography, with her central theme being work with a model: monumental spatial realizations on a small scale, often presented via photography. The artist examines the changeable relation between reality and its image (or its preface), which in itself becomes a new reality. She has presented her work in many Czech and Slovak exhibition institutions; recently, for example, in Kabinet T in Zlín, the Galerie TIC in Brno, Make Up Gallery in Košice and Fait Gallery in Brno. In 2013, she represented Slovakia in the Henkel Art Award.
