The situation in Czech art around 1900 was determined by various streams: plenarism and late versions of Impressionism, focused on the study of mature and wilderness, and especially Art Nouveau decorativism and symbolism. In their entangling, the Czech art world was seeking its own expression face. Thanks to the significant painters and sculptors (J. Praisler, M Jiránek A. Slavíček, J. Kotěr, F. Bílek, S. Suchard, etc.) and the federal activity of the Mánes Fine Artists Association - founded in 1887, the magazine Free Directions was published and also exhibition were organized at the beginning of the 20th century, and that's why modern artistic thinking and modern artistic expression could grow.
