Michaela kukovic´s illustrations of the book "This is Prague" based on the Collage Technique, was recently awarded one of the awards at the prestigious world fair of the children´s book in Bologna. The book is the first edition of the series of follow - ups to the famous children´s guides to the world ´s capital cities made by the czech emigrant Miroslav Šašek. He created a total of nineteenguides, which the Baobab Publishers a few years ago finally started publishing in our country. Here an ambitious project of the continuation of the Šašek line was reated in cooperation with the best European illustrators. The first book is somewhat exceptional: Šašek could not physically return to his "Prague" and it is worth mentioning that the text of the book was written by the greatniece of the author poet Olga Černá.The author of the illustrations Michaela Kukovičová, a graduate of the animation studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, had already exhibited in the gallery café four years ago.
