The name of Vojtěch Hynais (1854-1925) was famous especially thanks to the painter´s participation in the National Theater decoration. While the artist spent the final part of his life in Prague, he was first home to his native Vienna and later to Paris. The Collection of Graphics and Drawings of the National Gallery in Prague holds a comprehensive fund of Hynais ´ drawing - in - estates. These drawings, of which most of them have not yet been exhibited, correspond with the wide range of Hynais´ work. At the same time they represent the drawing work in its main functions and manifestations (sketch - study - desigh). Their selection in the graphic cabinet will bring Hynais´wanderigs around Europe and his artistic achievements from the early 70´of 19.th century to the late works of 20th century. They remind us of the author not only as a painter and designer, but also as a creator of decorative designs for architecture, arts and crafts, whose common denominator is artistic virtuosity. |
