Intense evolution of the genre experienced in the approximately hundred years required that the exhibition be sectioned into several periods: romanticism, realism, impressionism, cubism, fauvism and expressionism. Painters such as Julius Mařák, Antonín Chittussi, Antonín Slavíček, František Kaván, Otakar Nejedlý, Václav Špála and a good many of others represent here the superior artistic quality of Czech schools of landscape painting as an important, autonomous and very specific expression of European legacy of visual arts and cultural values generally. Wider art-loving public will thus be given, after some time, a chance of appreciating the private collection of these outstanding artworks arranged at one of the most impressive exhibitions spaces in the Czech Republic. |
