Invisible citiesArcimboldo Gallery, Lázeňská 4, Praha 1June 25, 2019 - August 3, 2019
Invisible Cities, inspired by the eponymous book by Italo Calvino, brings together Giovanni Battista Piranesi's celebrated engravings depicting views of Rome and the urban imaginings of nine of today's leading Czech contemporary artists, metaphors that spring forth from – or lose themselves in – utopia, mythology, and history. The exhibition features fragments, details, apocalyptic scenes, assemblages, as well as impersonal spaces that parallel the world we inhabit. Authors: Giovanni Battista PIRANESI, Jakub GELTNER, Igor GRIMMICH, Jana KASALOVÁ, Petr MALINA, Jiří MATOUŠEK, Jaroslav RÓNA, Martin SKALICKÝ, Michal ŠKAPA, Jakub TYTYKALO Curator: Radek Wohlmuth
