The exhibition presents the history of Tibet from the second half of the first millennium CE to the present. It relates the main historical events, important figures and basic concepts of Tibetan culture. In addition to splendid temple paintings and ritual objects, there will also be interesting sacred folk art. Among the most significant exhibits are an 18th century Tibetan Buddha painting, a portrait of a high-ranking monk from the Summer Palace of the Manchu Qing Dynasty Emperors, and a beautifully decorated gilded statue of the goddess Tara.
