The Vladimír Preclík Gallery / Forms of Czech Modernism 1958-1961Modern Art Gallery in Hradec Králové, Velké náměstí 139, Hradec KrálovéApril 12, 2018 - May 12, 2019 Permanent exhibition Permanent exhibition https://www.galeriehk.cz/en/permanent-exhibitions-p1522910534.html This exhibition looks back at the early works of sculptor, drawer, graphic artist, pedagogue and writer Vladimír Preclík (1929-2008), a native of Hradec Králové, whose work has gained recognition at international art expositions. He also founded and, for years, organized international sculpting symposia and created a number of installations in the city of Hradec Králové. Towards the end of the 1950´s, Preclík charmed the public with a series of sculptures depicting representatives of Czech modernism. He was thus able to successfully support the rediscovery of the legacy of artists who contributed to the development of Czech literature and poetry (Vladislav Vančura, František Halas, Vítězslav Nezval, Stanislav Kostka Neumann and Jiří Mahen), theater (Emil František Burian, Jan Werich), painting (Josef Čapek, Jan Zrzavý, Václav Špála) and music (Jaroslav Ježek).
