The "Sedmičky Josefa Lady" exhibition, so-called because the year of his birth, death and this exhibition all end in “7”, takes place at the Dancing House Gallery from 15 November 2017 until 1 April 2018. The Dancing House Gallery, together with Josef Lada's family, has prepared an exhibition entitled Sedmičky Josefa Lady, to commemorate the 130 birthday anniversary of Josef Lada, a major Czech artist, as well as the 60th anniversary of the date he died. The exhibition will bring extensive insight into the artist's work and personal life. 400 works will be displayed on the four floors of the Dancing House, some of them for the first time since 1957. On display will be the best known paintings by Lada, his illustrations, his work for children, interactive exhibits, and personal belongings. Sedmičky Josefa Lady is the most extensive overview of Lada's work in Prague in a decade. Lada's paintings will hang on the first and second floors of the Dancing House. The first underground floor will present his work for children, including illustrations for children's books. Fairy-tales will be shown, and a range of interactive exhibits will be on display there, as well. On the ground floor, the personal belongings of Lada will be available, including the furniture from his study, and his family tree. The exhibition will present Lada's less known work, as well, particularly his caricatures and illustrations. The exhibition curators are Lev Pavluch, Jana Sommerová, Jindřich Ulrich, and Josef Lada, the painter’s grandson. The gallery is open daily from 9 am until 8 pm.
